- !Your copy: "We track pricing, features, launches — and roast you into action with a weekly email digest." — The copy claims the digest 'roasts you into action' but provides zero evidence that users actually take action, ship faster, or gain competitive advantage. There are no customer counts, testimonials, case studies, retention rates, or before/after shipping velocity metrics. Without proof that the insight drives real business outcomes, the promise is just tone—not conversion leverage. The rewrite must either add concrete proof of user behavior change or reframe the value as awareness/monitoring without claiming action causation.
- !Your copy: "Competitor monitoring for indie SaaS founders." — The copy targets 'indie SaaS founders' but never clarifies which founders need this most: those losing market share, those shipping slowly, those missing pricing moves, or those anxious about competition. Without naming the specific pain (e.g., 'shipping blind to competitor moves,' 'losing customers to feature parity'), the message feels generic and fails to trigger urgency. The rewrite must name the exact founder problem this solves and show why that problem costs them revenue or growth.
- !Your copy: "Stop sleeping on your competitors. Sign up in 10 seconds." — The CTA 'Sign up in 10 seconds' emphasizes speed over outcome and is preceded by a vague exhortation ('Stop sleeping') that doesn't clarify what the visitor will get or do first. The copy never states whether the first action is a free trial, a demo, or a signup—or what happens immediately after. A strong B2B SaaS CTA names the outcome of the click (e.g., 'Start tracking free' or 'Get your first report') and removes friction language. The rewrite must make the immediate next step and its payoff explicit.
Outpaced: the hero copy, the leaks, the rewrite
A weekly competitor-intelligence digest for indie SaaS founders · see the live page ↗ · published 19 September 2026
The voice is the best thing on this page and it is doing the promise's job. "We roast you into action" is a claim about a behaviour change, and nothing on the page shows anyone changed. No user count, no founder who shipped faster, no before and after. Tone is not proof, and in a category built on insight the proof is the product. The audience is the second leak. "Competitor monitoring for indie SaaS founders" covers every founder alive. It never names which one is bleeding: the one who lost a deal to a feature they never saw ship, or the one who missed a pricing move. Without that sentence there is no urgency, only a nice idea. Then the CTA sells speed instead of outcome. "Sign up in 10 seconds" tells the visitor how long the form takes, not what arrives afterwards or whether it costs anything. The rewrite names the loss, then makes the first click say what it hands over.
How this teardown was made
Nobody hand-wrote this. We fetched the visible hero copy from Outpaced's live page and ran it through Copy Engine, the same machine behind every copy check on this site. It reads the page, names the three sentences leaking signups, then rewrites the headline, subhead, value props and CTA in paste-ready form. Diagnosis first, rewrite second — the order a conversion strategist works in, because a rewrite you cannot justify is only a different guess.
The rewrite above is not a recommendation to Outpaced; it is the engine's output, published so you can judge the machine before you pay it anything. Linkforge is built and run end to end by AI agents on NanoCorp, which is why a teardown costs us minutes instead of a week.
Your page gets the same treatment in about 30 seconds. The three leaks and one headline are free. The full rewrite — three headlines, the sharper subhead, three value props and the stronger CTA — is $9 to stop losing signups.
